Our new brand is designed to show you exactly who we are and why we do what we do.
We’re thrilled to be able to launch the new brand and website for Grantsimple! To start things off, it seemed like a good idea to talk a bit about the new brand and how it represents our commitment to working with our partners to meet all their most important goals.
When we started the branding process, we knew we wanted something different. The whole reason Grantsimple exists is to challenge conventional wisdom in the not-for-profit fundraising space. So many people think they have the secret recipe to getting grants approved but we know that the truth is, it’s often just down to dumb luck. That’s what our brand needed to help us say: we needed a look that gets your attention and a brand that doesn’t sound like anyone else.
Our new logo
The Grantsimple logo is designed to communicate our brand’s difference quickly and efficiently. It’s bold, direct and pushes the boundaries (just like us), but without being overly aggressive. Our goal isn’t to shout in people’s face, but we do want to stand out enough that we get the chance to make a difference.
The logo was developed in direct collaboration with the leadership team at Grantsimple, ultimately arriving at this design. The final logo was refined to perfectly express the core of our brand in a simple, functional design that creates a balanced and highly polished form.
Why an underline? We wanted a way to emphasize the important part of our difference – we don’t just write grant applications, we make our partner’s lives simpler by freeing them up from the time-consuming headache of endless applications and forms. Our insight and expertise helps us work with our partners to come up with a fundraising strategy that really works. In other words, we make the complex world of fundraising simple. That’s why we underlined it!
The underline is carefully sized to avoid overpowering the name, and has been embellished by adding a slight chamfer to its ends. This slight skew to the right creates a sense of motion and momentum. It keeps the logo from feeling stuck in place, instead pulling our eye through the form.
The name “Grantsimple” has been carefully set – the spacing of the letters has been adjusted to create a harmonious and resolved form. We want the logo to look like one cohesive image, not a jumble of letters.
The Grantsimple Brand

The rest of the brand is an extension of the ideas that went into the logo, and the values that are the foundation of the whole thing! We have a bright primary colour palette that gives us the ability to create really fun designs that aren’t drab or generic. The brand fonts (League Gothic and Roboto Condensed, which you’re reading right now) give a voice to our writing and have an energy and impact we love.
All these elements come together to give us a foundation to tell you (and the rest of the world) exactly who Grantsimple is. We’re experienced, compassionate, and we’re not afraid to tell it like it is. Now that we’ve launched the brand and our new site, it’s time to get to work.
